Almost a year ago we moved out of our Okinawa, Japan home.
I loved that home. I loved my neighborhood. I love my neighbor. I loved my windows that wouldn’t open. I loved my shower that watered the whole bathroom. I loved the little yard. I loved the jungle (and massive jungle bats.) I loved the view. I loved the smell of cow shit on a hot Okinawa morning. I loved walking my doggies down the farm roads. I loved trying to talk to my Japanese neighbors. I loved the veggie farm stand across the street. I loved riding my bike along the beach any time I wanted. I loved living 1.2 miles from the coast. I loved the incredible food. I loved the amazing drinks. I still love all the friends I made.
I love Okinawa, and I hope that we are given the opportunity to return when we are completed with the rotation in Montana. Only 2 more years. Hopefully a little more than 1 and we should have an assignment.
