Mt. Helena Hike with the dogs.

Sunday Paul and I were both off work and we decided to hike the dogs. The best path we could think of and the safest for the dogs was Mt. Helena.

We took the dogs up the 1906 trail.

There are several websites that you can read about this trail on

Trails.com
or
VisitMT.com

It starts out really easy, for the first 1/4 or 1/3 mile it’s pretty easy hike. Then it gets a little physically strenuous off and on. We didn’t make it past the limestone cliffs, I… um.. I mean..  the dogs, got really worn out.

Out and back it was 2 miles even. There was a little cave at the limestone cliffs that we sat down at with the dogs and rest. But after the uphill to the little cliffs, the last part to the cave was killer on the calves.

Overall it was a great hike. and I think it’s one that I could do easily on my own and I may try to do it again this week by myself just for exercise. Because I am a lazy ass.
